1. Credit Card Payment:
Q. Is my credit card information
secure?
We make every effort to keep all your personal information, including your credit
card number, secure. sikkimhotravel.com uses the Secured Socket Layer (SSL) technology
to allow your credit card number to be transmitted to ccavenue over the Internet,
if your browser supports this encryption. As you enter your credit card number,
SSL encodes it so it is transmitted. Moreover you are entering all the credit
card information directly on the ccavenue.com Site, which is again protected
through SSL technology. In order to cross check your order, we ask you to send
us the written authorization with complete details to charge your card. Your
booking is only confirmed when we receive this authorization.
Q. If I store a credit card number in my profile,
will charges be automatically billed to my card?
Please not, as a policy we do not ask you to enter credit card
numbers in your profile. We take credit card information only
in the case
of requested reservations,
where status of the bookings cannot be confirmed instantly and the same
is on request basis. Your credit card is not charged until reservation
is confirmed & we
send you the confirmation for the same.
Q.I still don't feel comfortable transmitting
my credit card information on the Internet. Are there alternatives
for providing my credit card data to sikkimhotravel.com ?
Yes. We would be happy to assist you. You can either mail us your credit card
information at e.mail id: booking@sikkimhotravel.com or you can call us to give
your card details.
Q. I do not want to pay online. What are the
other options available?
You can pay us through the TT transfer. Kindly write to us for
details. But in this case, all confirmations would be subject
to confirmation & we
would provide services only after receiving the confirmation
of credit to our account.
Q. Can I use my credit card to make the
payment for somebody else’s purchase?
Yes. You can use your card to make the payment for your friends
/ relatives. In that case, we shall require a “Letter of Authorization” from
you, duly filled and signed. The letter will ask for your credit
card number, expiry date, and
amount to be charged, the name(s) of the person who is availing the service
along with the clear photocopy of front and back of the card.
The signature of the
cardholder must appear on the reverse.
2. Holidays and Pre-Packaged Tours
Q. Do holidays price include airfare?
Most of the holiday packages we feature online, do not include
airfare. You can see the section on the itinerary details “ Tour cost includes” of the package
and will find either the airfare is included or not or optional. Few packages
do have airfares for which the price of the airfare is mentioned in the section “ Tour
cost excludes”. Some of them have Airfares optional. With airfare optional
packages, you can decide whether you want to purchase a package with or
without airfare.
Q. I am not interested in a full package. I want
to book only hotels and transportation. Can I book just these?
Yes, you can book just a part of a particular tour. You can book
hotel(s) and/or car(s) through the respective sections directly
as well on our site also. OR
please email us your exact requirements and our travel consultant will
send you a breakup of what you have asked for, along with the
cost & other
details.
Q. How do I check pricing, availability and details
of holiday packages?
To check the pricing of holiday packages that can be reserved
online, simply browse the holiday section as per your requirement-selecting
region, holiday
style, dates and destination and click on search. The information displayed
will have the names of the packages and the pricing. To view
the
details, you will
have to click on “more info link”. Now you can book the holiday package by clicking
on “Book my holiday”. Regarding the availability: once the complete payment is
made, we shall confirm the services. Our travel consultant will get back to you
with the confirmation in 24 – 48 hours.
Q. Other than the holiday packages mentioned,
can you design my itinerary for the destination I plan to visit?
Yes, we do assist in designing the customized itineraries as per the destinations
selected by you. Please send us an email at booking@sikkimhotravel.com. Once
we receive your request, our travel consultant will revert to you within 24 hours
time.
Q. What do you mean by Pre-Packaged Tour?
Pre-packaged tours are the holidays for which we have confirmed reservations
in advance. You can book them and get instant confirmation.
4. Hotels
Q. How does a credit card guarantee a hotel reservation?
When you make the payment on our payment gateway, we pass your booking on to
the hotel. This ensures that a reservation is held up to the date and time you
have specified. If you intend to cancel, you must send us the request in writing.
Q. I have made a hotel reservation but my itinerary
does not show a confirmation!
Few hotels, which show the status as “Available” give you the
confirmation instantly. There are few hotels, which are on request.
Once booked
and the payment is made,
the reservation is passed on to the hotel. Some hotels take as much as
24 - 48 hours before they provide a confirmation number. In case
your
credit card with
the specified amount is blocked as a guarantee. We debit your card only
in the case where booking is confirmed and the confirmation is
sent
to you by email.
Q. How can I find out more details about the
hotel?
Specific hotel information such as property address and phone
number, facilities, photos, location, accommodation, dining and
other details
is available. Please
click on the “more info” on the hotel rate page.
Q. How do I "Search for hotels by city"?
Choose a country you desire to visit and the city. Browse for the hotel in that
particular city. You may then make a selection by sorting the hotels by clicking
on Travel House Specials, Rates, Hotel Name and Category. This way you can fine-tune
your search or can simply name the city for which you are searching for hotels.
4. Grievances / Complaints
Q. What should I do if I have any grievance regarding
the services?
If you have any grievance in respect of services provided by any of the independent
contractor, the complaint must be notified to the company within 7 days of availing
the service. The company shall take all reasonable steps to redress the genuine
grievance of the customer. All complaints should be addressed to Executive Vice-President
(Operations) at booking@sikkimhotravel.com |
